DZG-App

The DZG app for everyone who suffers from celiac disease and gluten intolerance. What can I eat? Which foods are suitable for me? In which restaurants and hotels can I eat without worries? This app offers orientation and security. It uses the extensive and always up-to-date databases of the German Celiac Disease Society. V. (DZG) back. All information is checked and verified by our professionals. Only confirmed information is included in our databases.  The app aims to make everyday life easier for people affected by celiac disease. Exclusive features and functions are available for our members.

Food selection/product search

Here, users can check foods for gluten-freeness based on the DZG databases. “The small food overview” uses a clear traffic light system to show which products contain gluten, which are at risk of having gluten added and which are definitely gluten-free. You can use the product search to search for specific foods/food groups and/or manufacturers. The products are included in the database based on manufacturer information, which is obtained and regularly updated by the DZG. Manufacturers or brands that are not listed may not have reported any product data back and are therefore not part of the database.

Gluten-free away from home (no more “carefree travel”)

Here you can find the addresses of hotels, restaurants, clinics and spa facilities with gluten-free options. You can use the full-text search to search for the relevant facilities by name, zip code or location. A map symbol takes you to a map where the address you are looking for is shown and can also be used for navigation. Do you have a recommendation for a gluten-free house? You can send this to the DZG via the app. You can add favorites under “My Places”.

Home/News

Under “News” you will find news about celiac disease. This includes information about product recalls, references to new studies, important information from the celiac community or tips for events. Helpful information about medical consultation hours, for example, can be found here as well as various checklists.

Please the cook 

The “Please to the Chef” offers you support in communicating the needs of those affected by celiac disease when eating outside the home. The short explanation for the service and kitchen staff is available in over 40 languages ​​in the app and can therefore also be used when traveling. You can select the country you want using the country selection.

Celi support

Here you can specifically search for DZG regional groups by group name or alternatively by postal code area. The respective contact persons can also be found this way.

Help

The areas “Out of Home”, “Product Search” and “Ask the Chef” are only reserved for DZG members and require a login. The login details correspond to those for the members area of ​​the DZG homepage. In order to use the app, you must first register on the homepage.

Recommended minimum requirement to use the app: Android v8.1 

File size: The DZG app is 6 MB in size, the offline data for the app totals 20 MB and is reloaded.
